Red Eye Rundown
A terrible sequel that should have been killed off after the first movie.
Why not try Inside Man

Cast your mind back to the hit movie Basic Instinct that made Sharon Stone's name as well as another part of her anatomy famous. Remember all the action, thrills, sexy scenes and violence? Basic Instinct 2 has none of it whatsoever. The curse of the sequel strikes again. Some sequels are great, they are designed to be a series of movies, look at Pirates of the Caribbean for example. This doesn't fit that category. It seems to have been a cashing in movie. Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone) is back and accused of the murder of her boyfriend. The police working on the case have her mentally assessed and soon she becomes embroiled with her doctor Michael Glass (David Morrissey) who falls for her antics too easily. This is much the same story as the original movie however has much less intelligence and spark that made the first movie intense and thrilling to watch. Stone plays her role totally over the top and it really shows up the movie and makes it very difficult for the viewer to get into it. She is nothing like she was in the first movie. The intelligent and cold calculating monster has been replaced by a psycho nut job that is so far from reality it is a joke! Morrissey plays his role as best he can given the mediocre dialogue and the over acting of Stone. It must have been frustrating to film this for him. With very little positive to say for Basic Instinct 2 it is probably best to say that you should watch something else if there is a choice. The billed climatic ending was a real disappointment.
