Review

I sat down to watch this movie with an open mind half hoping that it would be another Guy Ritchie movie with his usual flare for the London humour. I was very much mistaken and totally surprised! Revolver is a gritty fast moving psychological roller coaster of a ride through the minds of several criminals.

The story centres around Mr Jack Green (Jason Statham) who has just been released from a seven stretch, Dorothy Macha (Ray Liotta) who fancies himself as top dog but unfortunately for him there is one man above him, the ever illusive Sam Gold. In Macha's sphere of business is Lord John, a rival drug dealer.

When Jake confronts Macha regarding the last seven years he spent locked up for him Macha starts to sweat. Macha is going to pay for what he did to Jake. Luckily for Jake he has the perfect con up his sleeve, taught to him in jail by two fellow prisoners he has never met.

The style of filming shows a darker side to the movie with the obvious intention to show the meaner side of the characters and story. With each scene there are more uncertainties introduced which in turn weave a more complex and obfuscated outline of reality for the characters.

During the whole time of watching this movie I could not get up from my seat, a whole fridge of beers remained untouched. Take that as a recommendation.
