Lawyers belonging to Michael Douglas and his former wife of 23 years have taken to court over a demand for 50% of the earnings he will make from the Wall Street sequel. When the couple split and divorced in 2000 Diandra Douglas was granted a share of the proceeds from his work while they were together.
Due to Michael Douglas reprising the role of Gordon Gekko in Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps she says that she is entitled to the share as this was a character he played while they were together and therefore the agreement of the divorce gives her the right to a future share in proceeds from spin-offs of work he was involved with during their marriage..
